Sweet Revenge by Cora Kent

This was an ARC provided by the author. Disclaimer: I'm not being compensated for this, just leaving an honest review of what I thought of the book. I give this book 5/5 stars. The spicy rating is a 3.5/4 out of 5 for me. I definitely think this book is my favorite from the first two in the series. I definitely like how the plot aligned with the book, tying in all three books. I like seeing doing parts of the books in multiple perspectives, gives a better understanding of what's going on. Overall I loved this book. Personally though, I think all three McCade men need a reality check and Malcolm needs a good throat punch. Good for Carrie earning to stand up for herself though. Thanks to the author for providing this ARC and giving me a chance to read and review it.

The spicy rating would be a 1/1.5 out of 5. This book was a quick and easy read just like the first one in the series which is why I rated it a little higher. With the book being classified as a dark romance, I didn't really see it. There wasn't enough romance for it to really be classified as one for me, only two parts in the book and that's about it. Again like the first one I feel like it should be classified as a stepfather/stepdaughter romance then a teacher/student trope, because it's portrayed more like that then him also being her teacher. I did like that it followed the timeline and events of the first book and that it filled in some gaps that we didn't see originally. And I like that we got to see a little more of Xavier and Kaye from the first book. Overall, ...

My rating of the book would be 3.5/4 stars and the spicy rating is a 3/5. I managed to read this book in a day and it was actually my first time reading a dark romance book. From what I've heard about other dark romance books, this once is a lot tamer compared to others but that's not a bad thing. I definitely think this would be a good starter book for someone wanting to get in to darker romance because it is on the lighter side. I did give it a higher rating because of how easy the book was to get through. The first chapter did start out right away with the plot of the book but did confuse me initially because it's like it started out of nowhere. And I understand this is classified as a dark college bully romance as said on the cover because it picks up with them in college but in this book I don't really see that....
