Cruel Intentions by Cora Kent

This was an ARC provided by the author. Disclaimer: I'm not being compensated for this, just leaving an honest review of what I thought of the book.

My rating of the book would be 3.5/4 stars and the spicy rating is a 3/5.

I managed to read this book in a day and it was actually my first time reading a dark romance book. From what I've heard about other dark romance books, this once is a lot tamer compared to others but that's not a bad thing. I definitely think this would be a good starter book for someone wanting to get in to darker romance because it is on the lighter side. I did give it a higher rating because of how easy the book was to get through. The first chapter did start out right away with the plot of the book but did confuse me initially because it's like it started out of nowhere. And I understand this is classified as a dark college bully romance as said on the cover because it picks up with them in college but in this book I don't really see that. I just felt like it more focused on Xavier and Kaye being step-siblings and the family dynamic and that the college part was more on the back burner, and that is should list primarily as step-siblings/forbidden romance instead. I did like the character development with the MMC. Some parts of the book though definitely reminded me of other books for sure.

Overall I did enjoy reading this book. It was a fast and easy read for me, and I would definitely recommend to someone just starting in dark romance.

Thanks to the author for providing this ARC and giving me a chance to review and read it.
