Dark Obsession by Cora Kent

This was an ARC provided by the author. Disclaimer: I'm not being compensated for this, just leaving an honest review of what I thought of the book.

I'd rate this book a 3/3.5 out of 5 stars. The spicy rating would be a 1/1.5 out of 5.

This book was a quick and easy read just like the first one in the series which is why I rated it a little higher. With the book being classified as a dark romance, I didn't really see it. There wasn't enough romance for it to really be classified as one for me, only two parts in the book and that's about it. Again like the first one I feel like it should be classified as a stepfather/stepdaughter romance then a teacher/student trope, because it's portrayed more like that then him also being her teacher. I did like that it followed the timeline and events of the first book and that it filled in some gaps that we didn't see originally. And I like that we got to see a little more of Xavier and Kaye from the first book.

Overall, I'm not really sure how I feel about this book. Would I recommend it? Maybe. Would I recommend it for someone who read the first book? Most likely if they want some gaps filled in and clarity on some things.

Thanks to the author for providing this ARC and giving me a chance to review and read it.
